Many branches offer a nine-frame radial extractor for hire (typically around £3 per day). New beekeepers often rent one to extract just one or two supers, only to discover that cleaning the extractor afterward is quite a tedious job—not to mention the sticky mess it creates.
Once again this year, you’re invited to bring your supers to Number 8 for extraction. There’s no mess to deal with, plenty of helpful advice, and lots of tea. The only cost is your cappings.
If you can’t attend today, don’t worry—the event usually runs over the course of a week. Clean-up day is Friday 28 August, sharp.
