Haybridge High School and Sixth Form Centre

The Beginners Course in Beekeeping for 2024 will commence at 19:00 on Thursday 1 February 2024.

Each session lasts up to two hours for eight consecutive weeks, after which candidates are encouraged to attend practical sessions at intervals at the Branch Apiary (weather permitting).

To join the course you are asked to make a donation to Hagley & Stourbridge Beekeepers' Association and this means that we will give you membership of the British Beekeepers' Association (BBKA).  As a member of the BBKA  you will receive BBKA News, the beekeeping publication sent to all BBKA members monthly.

The course donation depends on if you already keep bees.  No bees?  Then the course donation is £100.

If you already have bees your donation will be £120 which will cover you for up to ten million pounds of public liability cover plus Bee Disease Insurance for up to three hives.  In addition, you will be assigned a mentor, an experienced beekeeper who hopefully lives locally who can guide you and offer practical advice in your first beekeeping year.

The course is open for only 20 candidates and bookings are being taken now with payment in full on a first come basis.  If you start but don’t complete the Beginners Course then your donation is non-refundable.  Your place is secured when we have received payment AND your application form.  No form, no place

To book your place please print off this form and transfer your donation, the details are on the foot of the form.
