The next meeting at Prestwood Apiary will take place on Sunday the 29th at 11:00am (British Summer Time).
There will be another opportunity to practise building hive frames, so if possible, please bring a small hammer, pliers, or a workbench. We will also be running a smoker-lighting practical session, and some remedial work will be carried out on the hives in preparation for the new season.
Following the low turnout at the previous meeting, it’s worth emphasising that these practical sessions are open to all beekeepers. They provide a valuable alternative to relying solely on online resources, offering the chance to learn through hands-on, mentored experience.
Experienced beekeepers who are willing to share their knowledge and mentor newcomers would be especially welcome.
Anyone who would like to attend is very welcome.
The postcode for nearby buildings is DY7 5AL . To access the apiary coming from Stourbridge on the A449 shortly after Prestwood Aquatics on the left, turn left onto The Oval / Boundary Lane ( Prestwood Farm Feeds is on the corner).
There is also a a sign to the Coach House cut into the stone on the corner. Follow Boundary Lane over the river Stour and when the road splits, bear right through the iron gates and the log cabin is on the left.
You can park on the road by the Log Cabin
